A motorist has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash on the B6161 in Harrogate this morning.
At around 8.30am, a Mazda MX5 and a grey Landrover Freelander crashed on the road before an ambulance was called.
Police were then called to the scene and decided to close the road. Fire crews were also called and were forced to cut one of the drivers from their car.
One of the drivers was then taken to hospital with serious injuries. They are believed to have suffered broken bones during the crash but the injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Police have now reopened the road between Beckwithshaw and Leathley but officers have warned that the road surface may still be slippy.
