Harrogate's new-look rail station has added its latest feature with the first futuristic Smart Wall in the UK.
The new Smart Wall senses when a customer is approaching and automatically moves the interactive ticket touchscreens to be level with the customer's eye.
It also includes large video screens on either side to give customers information on trains, social media updates, news, weather and information about the local area.
The other side will be used for advertising local events and companies.
The wall marks the centrepiece of the new-look Harrogate station, currently undergoing the £1.2m improvement programme, that was announced in November, 2014.
Richard Allan, Commercial Director, for Northern Rail, said: “The Smart Wall is a fantastic innovation for our customers to make it quicker and easier to buy their travel.
“This is just one part of our drive to modernise the way we sell travel. The Smart Wall is the centrepiece of the new-look Harrogate station and will be a great focal point for commuters and visitors arriving in the town.”
The wall was switched on for customers in Harrogate for the first time yesterday (Wednesday, November 25) as part of Northern's ongoing plans to modernise the way it sells travel.

An official launch for the Smart Wall will take place before Christmas.
