TV gardening personality Sarah Raven is coming to Harrogate Showground with a springtime talk on Tuesday.

This one-off event is designed for both those who would like to develop an intensive cutting patch or just to grow a few flowers.

It is an all-day event which includes a two-course buffet lunch; doors open at 10am and the afternoon lecture finishes at 3.30pm.

Sarah will have a stall with her products and there is a cake stall.

The Present House also has a stand there. The raffle has prizes which include tickets to the Albert Hall and lunch and apa vouchers to Swinton Park’s new Spa, a hamper from Fodder and tickets to the Great Yorkshire Show.

The event is being put on by the North Yorkshire committee of the national charity Turn2Us, formerly known as Elizabeth Finn Care, which helps people in financial hardship to gain access to welfare benefits, grants and support services. The charity also helps support Hamden House Care Home in Harrogate.

Mrs Eileen Harrison Topham, the committee chairman said: “It promises to be such an interesting and stimulating day. Tickets are £75 from Mrs Geoffrey Consett, Aden House, Thornton le Moor, Northallerton, DL7 9DZ.
