A Harrogate TV producer has been named journalist of the year by the Royal Television Society.

Mark Witty, of ITV’s Calendar, was recognised for work connected with the search for Sheffield toddler Ben Needham, who disappeared from the Greek island of Kos in 1991.

He also helped the programme win “best news coverage”.
