A central Harrogate street was closed after high winds damaged a building and scattered debris across the road.
Tower Street was closed at around 10am this morning, according to shopkeepers on the narrow road.
Large wooden boards from the empty former bowling alley building on the street had come lose in strong winds and were scattered across the carriageway, they said.
Workmen from property managers Lambert Smith Herbert were at work to remove the remaining loose boards on the building, and senior surveyor Dave Travis said the company was waiting for a report from their contractor.
North Yorkshire county council said the road should be reopened at around 3pm today, Friday, May 24.
