A BROKEN down train on the Harrogate to Leeds line is causing major disruptions this morning (Tuesday).
A replacement bus service has been put on by Northern Rail for the thousands of commuters who use the route to travel to work.
A statement issued by the rail provider said: “A broken down train is causing disruption near Horsforth. Because of this, buses are replacing trains between Leeds and Harrogate, with journey times extended by up to 30 minutes. This will continue until further notice.”
Further delays have been on the A61 at Harewood Bank because of a broken down school bus.
Commuters have taken to Twitter to express their frustration.
Emblazon Harrogate (@EmblazonUK) said: “Just wasted an hour of my day. No chuffin’ trains running to Leeds from Harrogate this morning. #lateforwork.”
Richard Abbott (@RichardAbbott) said: “One broken down train = all services suspended Harrogate-Leeds. Unbelievable. Well done #northernfail.”
