Man rescued after crash

A MAN had to be cut free from his car after a crash in Harrogate on Tuesday.

Two fire engines from Harrogate station were called out to Church Square to reports of a two-car crash at around 3pm.

Fire crews arrived to find two people injured. One, a woman, was said to be “walking wounded” and had left her vehicle.

The second driver, a man, was trapped in his car.

Firefighters rescued the man using hydraulic rescue equipment and he was taken to hospital by ambulance suffering from head, neck and shoulder injuries.

His condition was described as “not serious”.
