Extra rail services will run next week to cope with the volume of visitors expected in Harrogate for the Great Yorkshire Show.

Three additional trains will depart Leeds bound for Harrogate at 8.53am, 10.13am and 11.43am. A service bound for Hornbeam Park will leave York at 9.43am, and a the existing 5.44pm Leeds to Knaresborough service will extend to York.

In addition, extra carriages will run on four existing services over the show. These services leave York at 10.11am and 1.11pm, and depart Leeds at 11.29am and 2.29pm.

Passengers can receive £2 off their show ticket price if they buy it along with their rail ticket at a staffed station.

Richard Allan, Area Director for Northern Rail, comments: “We are delighted to once again support this fantastic event by running extra services to take people by train. We had a few visitors show up early at York station causing quite a stir...”
