An elderly woman who was killed after being struck by a car in Knaresborough has been named by police.
Ninety-one-year-old Barbara Mary Hoyes, who lived in the area, died after she was hit by a green Toyota Aygo on Forest Moor Lane on Saturday afternoon.
The driver of the car, an 88-year-old local woman, was uninjured.
Police say Mrs Hoyes was hit by the car close to the junction with the B6163, at about 12.35pm on Saturday. She died at the scene.
Diversions were put in place while police examined the scene and the road was reopened at 4.10pm.
