A six car pile-up on the A59 Harrogate to York road this morning resulted in two drivers being taken to hospital.

The drivers were taken to Harrogate District Hospital with minor injuries after the 7.45am incident.

The drivers were in a Kia Pro_Cee’d and Toyota Yaris. The other cars involved were a Ford Fiesta, Kia Sportage, Vauxhall Corsa and a further Toyota Yaris.

The incident has led to commuter delays, although traffic is flowing freely.

No serious injuries were reported in the incident, reported to North Yorkshire Police at 7.45am.

Fire and ambulance crews were present, and the road was due to be cleared after 10am.
