Police have named the Copgrove man who died when the Porsche he was driving collided with a tractor on Friday night.

David Thomas Maskill, 42, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision, on Wath Lane, between Staveley and Copgrove at 8pm on July 12.

Mr Maskill was driving towards Copgrove, and the tractor in the opposite direction, when the collision occurred.

The inquest was opened and adjourned on Wednesday 17 July 2013, in Harrogate.

North Yorkshire Police have renewed an appeal for witnesses to come forward with information.

Traffic Sergeant Julian Pearson, of North Yorkshire Police’s Roads Policing Group, said: “I am keen to speak to anyone who was in the area of Wath Lane at the time of the collision and may have seen either of the vehicles prior to the incident and ask them to get in touch straight away.”
