Deer causes motorcyle death near Ripon

A motorcylist died after a a crash at Studley Roger near Ripon on Saturday morning (August 3).

Police believe a dead deer found at the scene of the crash may have ran out causing the rider to fall.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The air ambulance attended the accident however the rider, a 60-year-old man from Lancashire, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man was riding a white BMW on Limekiln Bank on the B6265 just after 11am when he crashed.

Police are appealing for witnesses, or anyone who saw the bike before the crash to contact then on 101 and ask for Rob Roberts.
