A delivery driver suffered serious head injuries when he was ran over by his own van in Darley.

The Yorkshire Air Ambulance were called to the scene at around 8am on Tuesday morning (October 8).

Paramedics treated the man, who is in his 60s, at the scene before taking him to Leeds General Infirmary.

A police spokesperson said: “It looked like his own van that had been parked has rolled over him and crashed into a dry stone wall.”

The man was delivering papers in a white daihatsu vanwhen the accident happened on Sheepcote Road in Darley.

The police and ambulance crews were called at around 7.20 am on Tuesday.

A police spokesperson said: “He is still in hospital but as far as we are aware his condition is improving.”

His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
