Three rescued after car smash

Three women had to be cut free from their car after crashing down an embankment between North Rigton and Huby.

Firefighters were called to help just before 1pm yesterday (Wednesday) after the crash which involved four cars.

One vehicle, a Fiat 500, tumbled down an embankment and trapped the three women inside.

The women were cut free using specialist tools and taken to hospital by paramedics.

The driver, aged in her 40s, suffered leg and hip injuries. One passenger suffered shock while the second had facial injuries.
