Thousands of people logged on to the Harrogate Advertiser series’ website last week to join our live coverage of the county council elections.

Live blogs, minute by minute updates and video interview with the winning candidates provided comprehensive coverage of the events, and saw our web audience soar.

More than double the average number of individual visitors logged on to www.harrogateadvertiser.co.uk on Friday, May 5, the day of the election count, and between them read more than 21,000 web pages – around three times the daily average.

Monthly web hits on www.harrogateadvertiser.co.uk are now well over the quarter of the million mark.

Our website readership has been growing month by month, and this year has seen major news tories like the Tour de France Grand Depart announcement breaking on our website.

The website has seen some major changes in recent months and now includes video reports of all the biggest stories.

And now the Knaresborough and Nidderdale districts have dedicated web pages bringing all their relevant news into one place.

Log on seven days a week to www.harrogateadvertiser.co.uk/ knaresborough for all your Knaresborough news, or www.harrogateadvertiser.co.uk/nidderdale for all your Nidderdale news.
