Child porn charges for ex-cop

A FORMER North Yorkshire police officer has been charged over indecent images of children, according to the BBC.

Charles Kevin Littleboy, aged 55, of Howe near Thirsk, has appeared at Northallerton Magistrates’ Court.

The BBC reports that the former police officer, who served in the 1980s, faces 11 counts of making indecent images of children, four counts of distributing indecent images of a child, and five counts of possessing an extreme pornographic image.

Queen says “yes please” to big cake

A CAKE fit for a queen is to be created in Harrogate and youngsters in the town can help design it.

Professional confectioners at Bettys Craft Bakery have received the Queen’s consent to create a cake to celebrate her Diamond Jubilee.

Budding bakers from primary and junior schools across the county are invited to send in their creative ideas to turn into a four tier, hexagonal cake.

Links between Harrogate Town and Wetherby school

COULD the next Micah Richards, Seb Hines or Elliot Kebbie pull on a Harrogate Town shirt in the future?

Well the Blue Square North club certainly hopes so after announcing a link-up with Wetherby High School, which will start in September.

The club will provide budding footballers with the chance to complete a BTEC Level 3 in Sport Development at the school, whilst playing for its newly formed academy side.

Young carers get weekend yacht treat

A GROUP of young carers from Harrogate have been given an unusual break from their responsibilities.

The 11 boys, all aged between 12 and 17, were taken aboard James Cook, a specially-designed yacht, and enjoyed a weekend-long trip along the north-east coast.

Fiona Demain, young carer activities co-ordinator at the Carers’ Resource, said: “It was a brilliant experience for all the boys and they embraced every challenge that this unique opportunity threw at them.
