Church News: we have been very fortunate with the weather for our events this year and Saturday, July 6 was no exception for the garden party held at The Grange in Main Street courtesy of Mr and Mrs Mortimer. There was a very good attendance, excellent music from the Tewit Band and many first class stalls. To cap it all over £2,000 was raised for church funds. Many thanks to everyone who helped and contributed. The next service in All Saints, Staveley will be a village service at 9.30am on Sunday, July 21 followed by Matins in Copgrove at 11am. Advance notice that there will be a leaving service for Canon Peter Midwood at Farnham Church on Sunday, August 4 at 11am.

Parish Council: at the recent meeting topics discussed included the condition of the recreation field, the village development plan where concern was expressed that drainage in the village is not adequate for current needs particularly after heavy rain. It was agreed a request should be made for drains to be cleared and in fact those around the green were cleared a few days later. It was decided that the parish councillor vacancy should be advertised. The next meeting will be on September 12.
