The Harrogate Candlelighters Committee hosted a fabulous evening at The Crown Hotel in Harrogate, raising £42,500 for a worthy cause.
More than 225 guests from Harrogate and the surrounding area supported the event and donations both on the evening and after the event helped make it the most successful ball that Harrogate Candlelighters has ever hosted.
The evening started with a champagne reception and ended with the guests dancing the evening away to The Nightjars, one of Harrogate’s leading bands.
One of the ball’s main sponsors, JCT600, provided an Aston Martin which was the perfect accompaniment to one of the stars of the show, a Daniel Craig lookalike.
The Candlelighters charity raises money which provides essential services and support to children with cancer and their families in Yorkshire.
Sue Patterson, chairman of the Harrogate Committee, said: “It was another fantastic night.
“Every year we are amazed at the generosity of our guests.
“Our pledge speaker Michelle Pattison told us their story about her son Owen affected by this horrible disease and how Candlelighters makes such a difference not only to Owen but to all her family as they take on this battle.
“This is when you really know that the money we raise gets to where it is needed. Thank you.”
