Guy Fawkes- the latest: the complete renovation of the pub is now making significant and visible progress, and while Peter and Martin are still hesitant about announcing an opening date at this point, I think we may well see the lights on and the front door open before the end of the month. Already they are talking to local real ale brewers and other suppliers and Martin is planning menus. I get the impression that the interior will be very comfortable without losing its old character and now that the chimney’s been swept the open fire in the bar is likely to blast out heat – which will be nice in the dark nights. Peter also indicated that Knaresborough micro-brewery may be moving their operations to Scotton. If so we may see a Guy Fawkes beer on sale in the village.
