Youngsters at two associated schools have joined forces to support a Harrogate-based charity for the homeless.
Ashville’s Pre-Prep and Junior Schools are making a large donation of tinned and dried food to Harrogate Homeless Project after the two schools came together for a combined harvest festival service.
Catherine Frieze, Ashville College’s Assistant Chaplain led the service and spoke to the children about the importance of resources such as clean water.
Ashville Pre-Prep School headteacher Carol Berrie said: “This was a very thought provoking Harvest Festival Service.
“Mrs Frieze’s talk made the children realise just how lucky we are to live in a country where we can get fresh, clean water at the turn of a tap.
“We also learned about people much closer to home who are less fortunate than us, hence the collection of food for the Harrogate Homeless Project.”
