The needs of rural areas will come under the focus of a new group in the Harrogate district.
The Rural Members’ Advisory Board will be an all-party group comprising 16 borough councillors who represent the rural areas.
It has been set up by Coun Nick Brown, cabinet member for public protection and rural affairs at Harrogate Council, along with the authority’s cabinet.
Around 45,000 of the district’s 150,000 residents live in rural areas.
Coun Brown said he wanted the group to “influence decision-makers both locally and nationally on rural matters of concern”.
