Christmas came early this year for three charities in the Harrogate district.
The new president of Harrogate Brigantes Rotary Club, John Butterworth, played Father Christmas for the day to hand out cheques to deserving causes.
Water Aid received £5,593 raised through the Kids Aloud concert at the Royal Hall, which featured children from local schools. Meanwhile, The Carers’ Resource and Yorkshire Air Ambulance received £2,943 and £2,892 respectively following the Rotary golf tournament at Oakdale Golf Club.
Guests and members were then given a presentation by Meryl Knapp about Water Aid, which provides clean water and sanitation to developing countries.
