Road closed near Knaresborough due to flooding

Police are reporting that the road has been closed between Farnham and Copgrove north of Knaresborough due to localised flooding.

Officers are asking drivers to plan an alternative route.

Bursts of heavy rain have already affected parts of northeast England and North Yorkshire and are expected to continue for the majority of today.

Rain is forecast in Harrogate until the weekend.

The Environment Agency is warning drivers about the dangers of driving through surface water, tweeting: “Remember 30cm is enough to move a car. Never drive through flood water ThinkDontSink.”
