A HARROGATE pupil has raised hundreds of pounds for a children’s cancer charity - by going to the hairdressers.

Ellie Dormer, 12, who goes to Ashville College, had more than a foot of her hair cut off to raise more than £500 for the Little Princess Trust, which provides real hair wigs for children who have lost their hair through cancer or alopecia.

She said: “This was something I felt very passionate about doing as I knew my hair could be used for a good cause.

“The last time I had it cut was in 2008.”
