Italian restaurant chain Carluccio’s has been refused planning permission to open in Harrogate town centre.
Chief executive Simon Kossoff has criticised Harrogate Borough Council for being ‘short-sighted’ in refusing permission to open at Station Square.
The development could have opened up 30 job opportunities, and the chain is now planning to appeal the council’s decision.
Chief planner Gary Bell refused permission on the grounds that the building should remain a shop.
