Harrogate has not made the shortlist to host the Great Exhibition of the North in 2018.
At the start of July, The Great Exhibition Board received nine bids from Northern towns and cities to host the two-month event.
Harrogate was joined by Bradford, Halifax, Blackpool, Scunthorpe, Sheffield, St Helens, Whitehaven, and Newcastle and Gateshead in submitting bids.
However, it was announced today, July 29, that Harrogate had not made the shortlist to host the exhibition.
The exhibition will showcase the great creative, cultural and design sectors across the North, and boost investment and tourism in the region.
The venue for the Great Exhibition of the North will be announced in the autumn.
