Barnado’s Box Opening: will take place on Saturday, March 9 at a coffee morning, 10am-noon at St Cuthbert’s Lounge. There will also be a cake stall and tombola. Anyone wanting a collecting box should ask a committee member or come to the coffee morning.

Froghoppers Pre-School Playgroup: is holding a craft fair and table top sale at Pateley Bridge Memorial Hall at 11am-2pm on Good Friday, March 29. There will be handmade crafts, cake stall, kids crafts, games with prizes, face painting, bacon rolls, tombola, Easter egg hunt and a 2ft choc egg raffle. If you can help Froghoppers by donating cakes or prizes please contact Bev Spence on 01423 712957 or leave items at The Old Granary Tea Shop in Pateley Bridge. Froghoppers is a local playgroup based at Community Buildings behind St Cuthbert’s School.

A night of live music: is to be performed at the Pateley Club tonight, Thursday, March 7, at 42 High Street, Pateley Bridge. Free entry, but we will pass the hat. Guests welcome. Bar open at 8pm. Residents parking permits - Pateley Bridge: will be on sale in Pateley Bridge Library, on Friday, March 22, 10am-5pm, and on Saturday, March 30, 10am-3pm. Thereafter at the Nidderdale Plus offices in the Old Workhouse, King Street, 11am-3pm. Like last year, the cost is £12 for the year, they entitle the holder to two hours free parking and families with two cars can have both registration numbers on one permit. Cash only please.

Pateley Bridge and Upper Nidderdale Crown Green Bowling Club: are holding their first Players Meeting of the 2013 Season tonight, Thursday, March 7, at 7pm in the Committee Room at Pateley Bridge Memorial Hall. Players of all ages and abilities welcome.

Highside Singers Concert: on Friday, March 22 at 7.30pm. Another concert by this popular local choir with a programme of music to suit all tastes. Tickets £7 including refreshments. On sale at Pateley Bridge Pharmacy or pay on the door.

At the Roman Catholic churches Sunday Mass will take place at 10.30am at Pateley and at 9.15am at Menwith Hill.
