Christmas Dragon Lantern Making workshop: there will be the annual lantern making workshop to create a Christmas Dragon at Nidderdale High School for the St Nicholas Festival on Saturday-Sunday, November 16 -17. The sessions will start at 10am and finish at 3pm and will create the Christmas Dragon frame from willow and cover it with tissue. These sessions are open to Year 5 and above who must be accompanied by an adult. Years 7 - 10 Nidderdale High School students and any members of the community are also invited to help with this project. Bring your own packed lunch, soft drinks will be provided. Dance Fundraiser: have some fun at Nidderdale High School on Saturday, November 9 and help to raise funds for the school minibus.A 1940s style Dance Extravaganza will feature some gentle and helpful instruction from Major Swing and Kitty who will provide the great 40s music and take you through the basic steps with the minimum of pain. There will also be vintage cocktails, Moon Booth photography and a buffet - all of which should make for a great night out. The event runs from 8-11pm and tickets are only £10 from the school on 01423 711246.

Christmas Fair: the PTFA of Nidderdale High School will be holding their Christmas Fair on Friday, November 22, 5.30pm - 7.30pm in the school hall. There will be a variety of unusual and inspiring stalls to purchase your Christmas presents from, seasonal food and drinks will be served by the PTFA and students so please come along to support your school. Glasshouses WI: our next meeting is open to everyone, male and female so ladies give your men an outing. We are holding a Call My Bluff wine tasting evening at Glasshouses School. Wine tasting with a twist. It will take place at 7.30pm on Wednesday, November 13. Cheese and nibbles included. Cost £5. Pay at the door.
