The recent Bird Quiz: in aid of St Marys Greenhow was won by Mrs S Garforth of Ramsgill. Mrs Garforth was the only person with every answer correct. The quiz raised £135 for church funds. Many thanks to The Pharmacy, Towlers ,Cost Cutter and The Fish Shop who sold the quiz so willingly.

Cinema in the Dale: the next film to be screened at Pateley Bridge Memorial Hall will be Argo at 7.30pm on Saturday, September 28. Tickets £5 Available from Pateley Bridge Pharmacy.

Gardening Club: the next meeting of The Glasshouses and District Gardening Club will be held in Dacre and Hartwith Village Hall tonight, Thursday, September 19. Our speaker that night will be Mr Ian Forbes who will be talking about salvias at Newby Hall, he will be giving demonstrations on cultivation and propagation of these lovely plants. Macmillan Coffee morning: Pateley Bridge Methodist Church will be joining in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in support of Macmillan Cancer Support. Do come and join us for drinks and cakes in our coffee lounge on Tuesday, September 24, 10am-noon and support this wonderful organisation.

Quiz: at the Royal Oak, Pateley Bridge on Thursday, September 26, 9.30pm start on behalf of Harrogate Hospital Radio. There will be a raffle too.

Give blood: the National Blood Service will be visiting the Memorial Hall on Friday, September 27. Please make an effort to get along there for one of the two sessions, 2.15-3.45pm or 4.45-7.15pm. Pateley Bridge Dance club: the next dance will be on Friday, October 11, 7.30-11.30pm, at Pateley Bridge Memorial Hall. Dancing to Denis Westmorland. Entry £7 on the door to include supper. There will be a raffle. Bring your own drink. All welcome. Details from 01423 711197 or 01423 711642.

Church services: Saturday, September 21 all are welcome at Evening Worship in the way of the Iona Community at Bewerley Chapel at 6pm. This is a quiet service with readings, prayers and hymns in the Iona tradition, and time for silence and reflection. To find out more please ask Eileen McLean 712467.
