PATELEY BRIDGE

Harrogate Band Concert - Fanfares and Lovesongs: concert in Pateley Bridge Methodist Church on Saturday, September 14 at 7.30pm. The North of England Champion band will play a wide variety of music including the wonderful Fanfares and Lovesongs by Gavin Higgins. Tickets at £8 each are available from Pateley Bridge Pharmacy or on the door. Interval refreshments (tray bakes) will be available. Anybody requiring transport to and from the concert should contact Nan Davies on 712440.

Pateley Bridge WI: will meet today at the new time of 2pm in the lounge of the Methodist Church. Our speaker will be Barbara Ward who will tell us of her trip to China visiting the Silk Route, and show examples of Chinese embroidery. New members and guests will be made very welcome.

Coffee Morning and Table Top Sale: in aid of St Mary’s Church, Greenhow at Pateley Bridge Memorial Hall on Saturday, September 14, 10am-1pm. Big tombola and cake stall. Tables are available for hire at a cost of £5. To hire a table contact Linda on 711942.

Heritage Weekend: will this year be held this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, September 14 – 15. The tower of old St Mary’s Church Pateley Bridge will be open to visitors 11am-4pm each day. Come and climb the ancient steps of the tower to look out over the dale. Explore the 17th, 18th, and 19th century memorials in the churchyard. Look out for the grave of Mary Myers who departed this life ... aged near 120 years.

Leaflets will be available. Donations would be welcome for the next set of memorial restorations in Pateley Bridge Cemetery.

Gardening Club: the next meeting of The Glasshouses and District Gardening Club will be held in Dacre and Hartwith Village Hall on Thursday, September 19. Our speaker that night will be Mr Ian Forbes who will be talking about Salvias at Newby Hall, he will be giving demonstrations on cultivation and propagation of these lovely plants. Quiz: at the Royal Oak, Pateley Bridge on Thursday, September 26, 9.30pm start on behalf of Harrogate Hospital Radio. There will be a raffle too.

Flu Vaccinations: the Pateley Bridge Surgery is now taking bookings for all eligible patients to have their flu vaccination.
