Concert: there will be a concert by Ade Payne (acoustic folk/vocals) at the Joe Longster bandstand in Pateley Bridge Recreation Ground on Sunday, June 16 at 2pm. Admission is free with a collection taken on the day to help with the bands expenses.
Open Studios: You are warmly invited to visit the studios of five artists in the Pateley Bridge area as part of the North Yorkshire Open Studios 2013 event. Joseph Hayton, stone carver; Moxon and Simm, contemporary jewellers, and Maureen Little, painter will be exhibiting at the King Street Workshops Pateley Bridge. Annette Jeffery, felt sculptor will be at The Nooking Panorama Walk, Pateley Bridge and Emmerson Mayes,painter and Printmaker at 5 Cliffview Terrace, Glasshouses. St Cuthberts School Summer Fair: takes place on Saturday, June 15, 10.30am-12.30pm. Grand procession at 10am, leaving the school led by the Rose Queen and her attendants. The parade will travel down King Street and back up the High Street turning left at the Oldest Sweet Shop. The theme for the parade is Once Upon A Time so the schoolchildren will be dressed as their favourite book character, carrying a copy of their book. Official opening of the fair at 10.30am - attractions include a bouncy castle, face-painting, coconut shy, tombolas, cake stall, plant stall, sweeties–in-a-jar, crafts and games. There will also be music from the Pateley Posse and home-made refreshments including cream teas and a barbecue. This is the biggest fundraising event of the school year and the Friends of St Cuthbert’s welcome parents, relatives, visitors and members of the local community to come and enjoy themselves whilst raising money for our wonderful local school.
Coffee Morning: at St Michael’s and All Angels Church, Wilsill on Saturday, June 15, 10am-noon. Refreshments, raffle, cake stall etc. Everyone welcome.

Cycling Fever: on Sunday, June 16, Nidderdale High School will host an exciting cyclo-cross event. If you haven’t seen this sport before, it’s full of fast, furious - and often muddy action as the participants race around a track laid out in a field - in this case, the field behind Nidderdale High School.
Entry is free for spectators with two races on offer at 11.15am and noon. Refreshments will be provided by Nidderdale High School PFTA. Afterwards, there’s the opportunity to experience the cyclo-cross thrills and spills by bringing along your bike and entering some specially arranged beginners events which are ideal for the absolute novice - entry is only £2.50 on the day, or £2 if you pre-register with Nidderdale High.
Celebration of Ministry: with the induction of The Rev Darryl Hall as Vicar by John, Bishop of Ripon and Leeds on Wednesday, June 19 at 7.30pm at St Cuthberts Church.

Friends of Pateley Bridge Cemetery and St Mary’s Churchyard: this years fundraising quiz, Name that Tree, is now on sale in outlets throughout the town and at How Stean Cafe. Please support this worthy cause and help preserve our burial grounds for the future.
Musical Mayhem: on Saturday, July 6 there will be a unique event at the Pateley Bridge Memorial Hall. A combination of the talents of the Nidderdale Community Orchestra and the Nidderdale Community Choir will be on show as they join together in a concert in aid of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. To be held from 2pm onwards, the concert will feature not only music from these two but also items from guest artists and friends. Entrance to the event is free and we hope people will wander in at any time and avail themselves of coffee, tea or something stronger whilst enjoying the music. Donations to the Air Ambulance will be most gratefully accepted. Please pop in and see what we have to offer while supporting a very worthy cause. And the most important point, there will be cake and buns.
