This year’s dates are Wednesday, October 31 and Thursday, November 1 at the school from 10am-2.30pm. Boys and girls aged between six and 12 years old are welcome. Village Hall News: Pat Fitzgerald and his committee colleagues will be launching a new Pannal Village website at the Village Hall AGM on 6 November 6 at 7.30pm. This exciting new project will enable all our community groups to link together and share information to promote events and better coordinate activities in the village. Pat cordially invites representatives from all local interest groups and businesses including the Village Society, PTA, WI, Churches, all Scout and Guide Groups and all villagers who wish to learn how this new facility will work. The AGM will include a demonstration of how we can all link into the new website and benefit from the features it will offer. The meeting will take place in the Main Hall and the demonstration will be done on the new big cinema screen. All are welcome.

Christians Bistro: some of you may remember I mentioned that the former garden centre on Leeds Road is now an Antiques Centre and well worth a visit. When it opened up as an antiques centre a new couple were running Woody’s Bistro. They have since left and been replaced by a young man called Christian. Some friends and I went in and sampled a delicious lunch with coffee and cake to follow and can safely say it was very good quality. He is open at weekends too for Sunday dinners, I heartily recommend the blueberry gateau! Please do go along and support our local bistro and it’s new proprietor.

Church Services: Sunday, October 28 St Robert’s Pannal 8am Holy Communion, 9.30am Morning Worship, 6pm Evensong. Beckwithshaw Parish Communion at 11am.

News and events: please do get in touch if you have an event or something that you would like me to mention in the column. I sometimes don’t get to hear about things until after the event so even if you think I must know about something, please get in touch and tell me anyway, just in case! This will ensure you get a mention.
