Pannal Wives: (you don’t have to be a wife!). The new season started at Pannal Wives yesterday with a talk using slides on Wild New Zealand by Chris Abbott. We meet every  third Wednesday each  month (except July and August) and we are a friendly bunch looking for more friends to join us. The yearly charge is £20 which includes refreshments. Please come and try us out as a visitor for £4. Our October meeting is a social with games and nibbles, on October 16. Contact numbers are Dorothy Gerrard on 01423 873326, or Lesley Daltonon 01423 871822.  Everyone is welcome.

St Robert’s Beer Festival: was a great success! The Friday evening saw entertainment and a great crowd of people all enjoying a variety of ales. It was a fantastic atmosphere and everyone had a great time. The family fun day on the Saturday was also a great success with lots of families with small children attending. The teddy zip wire returned with a new rope and pulley system to speed things up (no more running up and down the bell tower). The Junior Church groups and the local Cubs ran games, there was music from Stray Notes and the last drop of ale was poured at 8pm bang on closing time. I am sure everyone will agree that it was another wonderful year for this great fundraising event.

Another Bag of Mixed Nuts: the latest evening of fun and frivolity from Woodlands Drama Group takes place at Pannal Village hall on Saturday, September 28 at 7.30pm. Tickets can be purchased from Stephen Hall (stephenkinghall@yahoo.co.uk, telephone 07795 484370) at a cost of £6 per head. Alternatively they can be purchased at Pannal Post Office (Crimple Valley fresh).

Pannal Village Hall Music Night: Pannal Village Hall will host a fundraising event on Saturday, October 12. It is a music night with music from the TOGS (Tired old geezers!) a band that plays all kinds of popular music from the past. It will be a great night out for all ages so please support your local village hall and come along. For further information visit the website at www.pannalvillagehall.btck.co.uk . If you are able to help sell tickets or donate raffle prizes please contact Pat Fitzgerald via the village hall site.

News and events: please let me know if you would like to publicise your news or an event in Pannal and Burn Bridge. I need to know eight days in advance of publication so that I can include the details.
