Church Services: Sunday, April St Robert’s Pannal 8am Holy Communion, 9.30am Morning Worship, 6pm Evensong. St Michael and All Angels Beckwithshaw 11.15am APCM.
Luncheon: the village hall is hosting a special Keep Warm Keep Well luncheon event on Wednesday, May 1 at noon which will include a free buffet lunch! A short talk and exhibition will be held to give help, advice and information upon ways to reduce next winter’s heating costs and help you to Keep Warm and Keep Well. The event is aimed at older people in the community and it will follow on from the newly formed Silver Surfers computer session which is also taking place that morning. There will be sandwiches and hot and cold drinks for those who can attend and entrance is free! All donations, gratefully received, will go towards village hall funds.
Pannal Cricket Club news: the new cricket season commenced on Saturday, April 20. The fixtures of the four senior mens’ and one ladies’ teams can be seen on the screen at The Harwood. The practice night for under nine-year olds, under 11-year olds and under 13-year olds is on Wednesday evenings with Mark Loker, a Level 3 coach, at the Weeton/Huby ground; contact the junior secretary, Vikki Berrill (01423 545457) for details.
Pannal Methodist Church: on Tuesday, April 30 there will be a speaker at 7.30pm at Pannal Methodist Church. The speaker Mr William Bell is Christian Aid’s adviser on Israel and Palestine and will be speaking about Christian Aid’s work in the Middle East. Everyone is welcome.
Pannal Mothers Union: the May meeting takes place on May 1 at 7.30pm in the Chapter House of St Robert’s Church. This month’s meeting is a talk by Susan Hart about Nemo Craft.
