Pannal Panto: don’t forget to buy your tickets for the dramatic event of 2013! Yes, that’s right, the time has come for the annual Pannal Players production. This year the production of Snow White runs from Wednesday, February 20 to Saturday, February 23. Performances are at 7.30pm each evening with a matinee at 2pm on Saturday afternoon. Tickets are available from Pannal Post Office and cost £5 for adults and £3 for primary school aged children. Don’t miss out, buy your tickets now!

Pannal pupil: I received a very nice email this week about a Pannal Primary pupil, Thomas Plant, who is in Year 4 and celebrated his ninth birthday in January.  He had a swimming party at Knaresborough Pool and invited 42 of his closest friends (popular boy!) from Pannal School and Harrogate Swimming Club to come along. Thomas chose to tell his friends that he would prefer not to receive presents or cards, but that people donate to St Michael’s Hospice instead.  He raised £385 for the hospice which I think is a marvellous amount of money to raise. Well done Thomas!

Footnet Sports Multi-sports course: is running again at Pannal School in February half term, for boys and girls aged six-12 years. The dates for your diary are Tuesday, February 19 and Wednesday, February 20 from 10am -2.30pm. The cost is £15 per day or £28 for both. If you would like further information or to book places, please contact Charlotte Smith 01423 503894.

Lunch Club: the next date for the St Robert’s Lunch Club is Tuesday, February 19 at noon in the Chapter House

Pannal Wives: next meeting is the savoury supper on Wednesday, February 20 at 7.30pm.

Church annual spring clean: at St Robert’s Church is on February 23 from 9.30am -12.30pm. Bring dusters, mops and garden tools. If you miss out there is another one on March 16.

News and events: please do get in touch if you have an event or something that you would like me to mention in the column. I sometimes don’t get to hear about things until after the event so even if you think I must know about something, please get in touch and tell me anyway, just in case! This will ensure you get a mention.
