A young model has been crowned winner of the Miss Harrogate competition 2013.
Olivia Marie Caven, 17, who stunned judges at the regional heats on Friday night, will now go on to represent the town at the national Miss England finals in May.
She had competed against dozens of other girls in a phone vote, an Eco Wear round, talent competition and evening dress, as well as completing a gruelling interview on-stage before judges at Revolution bar.
“I had always dreamt of doing something like this and when I heard about Miss Harrogate I jumped at the chance,” she said.
“I had butterflies but was determined to give it my best so when the time came and I stepped onto the stage I immediately felt much calmer and loved every second.
“I didn’t realise they had called my name at first, but when everyone was looking at me I realised I had won! It was such a fantastic feeling, I couldn’t stop smiling.”
Runner up was Bethany Brenan and second runner up was Lucy Morgan. Together, the finalists raised a combined £928.50 for Miss World’s charity Beauty with a Purpose.
