A burst pipe in Starbeck on Monday afternoon saw gallons of water shooting straight up in the air.
This image, submitted by reader Bill Shaw, captured the scene opposite the top of Stonefall Avenue.
A spokesman for Yorkshire Water said they were first called to the scene at around 4pm and had it under control by 4.15pm.
“Investigations showed that a stop tap cover had come loose, which was quickly refitted,” said a spokesman.
“We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this incident may have caused to the nearby six properties and to road users.”
