PUPILS at Oatlands Infants school were thrilled to receive a visit from one of their favourite authors last week.
Steve Cole, the author of the Astrosaurs series of books - which tell the tales of the finest crew of dinosaurs living in space - came to meet excited pupils from the school after their classmate seven-year-old Sam Shore won a competition.
Sam designed his own Astrosaur character for the series to win the visit.
He was presented with a certificate by the author and over 30 books personally signed by Mr Cole on the day of the visit.
The series, created six years ago when Mr Cole had the idea to cross the word dinosaur and astronaut, follows the adventures Captain Teggs and the DSS Sauropod crew as they fight evil across the galaxy.
The 20th book in the bestselling series - Earth Attack - was published in October.
For the competition Sam had to create an Astrosaurs character - and he was selected along with 19 young fans around the UK to win a mad cap visit to his school from Steve Cole plus a set of personally signed books by the author. He was presented with a certificate and over 30 books by Steve Cole when Steve visited the school.
