Ripon and Skipton’s MP wants businesses in the area to have their say on the red tape that affects them most.
Julian Smith is asking firms across his constituency to take part in the latest phase of the Government’s red tape challenge.
The scheme gives small business owners the chance to let the government know what they think of regulations.
The focus for the next few weeks of the initiative is on employment-related law, something the MP says can make a huge difference to the number of job opportunities in small businesses.
He has been campaigning on the issue since his election to Parliament last year.
Mr Smith set-up and ran his own recruitment business before being elected to Parliament in May 2011, said:
“Businesses small and large have had to deal with a welter of employment regulation from Whitehall in recent years.
