Plans for a further 170 homes in Knaresborough will be put forward to public consultation by developers.
This comes just a week after developers, CEG applied to Harrogate Borough Council for planning permission for 600 houses at Manse Farm.
Developers, Gladman, are distributing leaflets outlining plans for 170 houses at land off Boroughbridge road, next to Piccadilly Motors.
Coun Ivor Fox, ward councillor for Knaresborough Scriven Park said: “I am very concerned about this potential development as it has been consistently rejected by the council as being suitable for the LDF (local development framework).”
“One of the reasons the site isn’t suitable is that it would add to the traffic issues at Bond End which is already the most air polluted area in North Yorkshire.”
A spokesperson from Dacres representing Gladman said: “At this stage our clients will not be making any comments.”
Leaflets are expected to ne delivered in the area before March 14.
