Traffic in parts of Harrogate has once again ground to a standstill after a weekend of heavy snow.

Western Harrogate has been worst hit, with drifts up to four feet high on some rural roads.

Now, with road closures on some main routes, commuters are facing long delays.

The main Beckwithshaw to Otley road has been closed, as has the hill side road through Burn Bridge.

There are long delays through Huby and Rossett as people try to find alternative routes. Commuters on the A61 at Hookstone Road and Jennyfield Drive have also been badly hit.

Central Harrogate, meanwhile, seems to have escaped the worst of the delays, with reports that the roads are quieter than usual. The buses are running as normal.
