Harrogate Homeless Project is set to benefit by £2,255 following a fantastic fundraising lunch attended by local businesswomen at the town’s West Park Hotel.

The event, organised by Lisa O’Reilly of TellOnlyYourBestFriends.co.uk, was a complete sell out.

The event attracted sponsorship from Yoozoom Telecom, Ethos Finance, Melanie Jane Floral Design, Harrogate Spring Water and IT Tablets, as well as the Provenance Inns and Hotels Group which owns the West Park Hotel.

Harrogate Homeless Project receives around 200 referrals every year for people seeking shelter through No Second Night Out, its resettlement scheme, and never turns anyone away.

It also works with rough sleepers who are unable or unwilling to engage in resettlement, providing support through the Springboard day centre as well as running a severe weather shelter on behalf of Harrogate Borough Council.

Harrogate Homeless Project’s chief executive Liz Hancock said: “We are delighted to be supported by this event; the project is celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year, and we continue to rely on the support of the local community for the vital services we provide.

“Unfortunately, homelessness continues to be a reality in our district and we incredibly grateful for this contribution towards our work.”

Lisa O’Reilly said afterwards: “It was a wonderful afternoon. The West Park Hotel is a fantastic venue, providing delicious food and impeccable service. This was coupled with a room full of fantastic women along with extremely generous business sponsors, all in aid of a truly worthwhile local cause. We can’t wait to do it all again next year.”
