THE evening train between London and Harrogate will be continued, following the success of the route.
Passenger numbers have risen seven per cent since the launch of the service on May 23.
After a meeting with the chief executive of operator East Coast, MP Andrew Jones said: “Good transport links are an important part of ensuring a vibrant local economy. And in these difficult times we need to secure every advantage we can for this area. That is why this service is so important to us.”
It is the first direct service from London to Harrogate for more than 20 years.
