Young men hurt in Harrogate crash

A young man had to be cut free from a car in Harrogate after crashing into a wall in the early hours of this morning.

He suffered head and hand injuries in the crash at 1.45am, and was taken to hospital after being cut free by firefighters.

A second man was also taken to hospital for treatment.

Police said the pair, aged 19 and 21, had crashed into a wall at the junction of Ripon Road and Quarry Lane.

Police, paramedics and firefighters were on scene until 2.30am, helping to free the trapped man and clear the road.
