PET rabbit’s death prompts police plea, Elton John’s support act announced and a video of a wonder-goal, in Harrogate’s only and therefore best faintly amusing daily web round-up.
It was grammar-phobic poet e.e. cummings who ventured: “Progress is a comfortable disease” (he may not have capitalised the “p”), but one disgruntled user appears less than comfortable with what has been going on at harrogateadvertiser.co.uk.
“I don’t like this at all,” La Gioconda informed us this morning on our comments page. “Please go back to the way things were - not all ‘progress’ is good.”
Well at least (s)he said please.
To reassure La Gioconda, I’ll say that – aside from adding this daily summary – all we’re doing is putting more stuff on the web, so if you do find the Briefing incredibly annoying (and why wouldn’t you?), just ignore it. And perhaps one day it will go away.
At the same time, this newest of Advertiser features has drawn raves from up to four people (NB the link contains one rude word), so we’re not despairing yet.
Your suggestions for improvements are always welcome, of course, on the comments below, via email at email@example.com or on Twitter, and if you have any links that might be of interest to other readers, why not chuck those over as well.
One of those who did get in touch, Jonny Silcock, urged us to get a better logo. Jonny, please let us know what you think of the new version.
