The Knaresborough Men’s Forum held its annual Christmas lunch at the town’s Dower House restaurant.
The Mayor of Knaresborough, Coun Carole Reid, joined 89 forum members and their partners for a three course meal, before making presentations on behalf of the forum. Social secretary Ray Jones was recognised for all his hard work over the years, while the Dower House staff were also thanked for their hospitality.
The Mayor was then presented with a cheque from the forum to support the Mother Shipton statue campaign.
Forum chairman Terry Maude said: “The event was a great success. It was 100 per cent enjoyed by everyone.”
The Knaresborough Men’s Forum is going from strength to strength, with 15 new members joining since October, bringing total membership to 120. The last meeting before Christmas welcomed a record attendance of 79, with the average weekly attendance in the high 60s. The group meets every Tuesday from 10.15am to 11.45am at Knaresbroough House. Entry is £2, which includes refreshments.
