New head for Ladies' College

HARROGATE Ladies' College has appointed a new headteacher to begin in September this year.

Rhiannon Wilkinson joins the school from Haileybury School in Hertfordshire where she is currently the deputy head.

She will become head of the Harrogate Ladies' College group of schools which includes Highfield Prep and Bankfield pre-school and caters for 620 pupils.

Experience

Mrs Wilkinson has been at Haileybury since 2004 and has also previously worked in schools in Brunei and Hong Kong. She replaces the acting headmaster of Harrogate Ladies' College, Geoffrey Hazell, who was appointed as interim head in 2007.

Chairman of Governors Alan Skidmore said: "Under his stewardship Harrogate Ladies' College has continued to deliver excellent exam success both at GCSE and A-level. The governors are pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs Wilkinson and we are delighted to welcome her and her family to Harrogate Ladies' College."
