A NEW bus service linking Harrogate, Knaresborough and York will come into force on Monday.
Popular demand for the service has led to Transdev Harrogate & District investing 300,000 in the new Yorkshireexpress service which will launch on Monday April 28.
The service will run every 90 minutes from 07.45am to 17.10pm, linking Harrogate, Starbeck, Knaresborough and Green Hammerton to York.
The X54 Yorkshirexpress will be a new limited stop, dedicated service of easy-to-recognise buses operating from Mondays through to Saturdays.
David Alexander, managing director of Transdev Harrogate & District, said: "There hasn't been a direct bus service between Harrogate, Knaresborough and York for some years but we constantly receive requests for just such a facility.
"Our on-going research has shown us that there is now a clear gap in the market and a need which is not currently being met. As a result we will introduce X54 The Yorkshirexpress from Monday 28th April 2008. With our range of connect tickets travelling to York from anywhere on the Harrogate network of services could not be easier."
