Letter: Trees at the Royal Pump Room

Newcomers’ view - How much we agree

My husband and I very much agree with Malcolm Neesam’s article in last week’s Harrogate Advertiser (Novermber 7) about the trees round the old Pump House.

We are newcomers to Harrogate and one of the things we like best in the town is the quantity and condition of the trees everywhere.

However, there is a place for everything and the dark trees around the Pump House (possibly self-seeded) certainly make the area very gloomy.

The excellent restoration which has been carried out would look much better in open ground as in the illustration of the original site - particularly if there is to be a rockery.
