The following cases were dealt with at Harrogate Magistrates Court on September 24 and 29:

Carl Michael Blackmore, 26, of Avenue Grove, Harrogate, was fined £165 for using threatening behaviour at Boots in Ripon. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20, costs of £85 and a criminal courts charge of £150.

James Newett, 22, of Linton Common, Linton, Wetherby, was given a 12-month community order for driving while under the influence of alcohol. He must complete 300 hours’ unpaid work and was disqualified from driving for 30 months, to be reduced by 30 weeks on completion of an approved course. He was ordered to pay costs of £500, a criminal courts charge of £150 and a victim surcharge of £60.

Mark Peel, 48, of Woodfield Road, Harrogate, was fined £80 for assault. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20, compensation of £50 and a criminal courts charge of £150.

Christopher Ian Dalton, 32, of Beech Road, Ripon, was sentenced to eight weeks’ imprisonment for failing to comply with the requirements of two previous community orders given for convictions of assault and theft. He was ordered to pay a criminal courts charge of £100.

Nelson Banting Cruz, 42, of Finkle Street, Knaresborough, was fined £230 for driving without insurance. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £23, costs of £85 and a criminal courts charge of £150. His licence was endorsed with six points.

Claire Edmondson, 36, of Anchor Terrace, Boroughbridge, was fined £60 for failing to stop after an accident. Five points were added to her licence and she was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20, costs of £85 and a criminal courts charge of £150.

Daniel John Redpath, 22, of Moorside Dale, Ripon, was fined £345 for driving while under the influence of alcohol. He was disqualified from driving for 14 months, to be reduced by 14 weeks on completion of an approved course. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £85. A £180 criminal courts charge was imposed.

Joe David McKenna, 24, of Water Skellgate, Ripon, was committed to prison for 20 weeks and four weeks consecutively for two counts of assault. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £80 and criminal courts charge of £150.
